![]() You have some good ideas, but part of sharing good ideas is being able to condense them enough that people will be willing to read what you have to say. You also have to make sure it is viable in a range of situations, which is why I suggested them being able to kill slowly when other ducks were alive. Ducks can already kill other ducks when blind or with Mimic on, and there's already enough things in the game that make the ducks have to consider when and where they kill carefully. Opprinnelig skrevet av Danero:Also the devs have said in other posts that they have no intention of adding roles that can change sides. It makes Ducks unsure of if there's a Mimic or not, even if there's the right number of "Ducks" on the role screen. It makes Geese possibly sus of others who have been cleared. It makes Ducks consider each kill, possibly slowing gameplay a little, even if the Lame Duck is simply a possibility, but not actually in the game. However it presents an interesting depth that isn't yet in the game: Ducks may have a hidden ally, and a "Goose" that was definately clear through most of the game may really be a very dangerous Duck.ĭoes this role fundamentally alter how the game is played? ![]() The Mimic Goose might have a small boost because if the Ducks know there's three ducks, and see only three, they might assume there is no mimic, if there's a Mimic and a Lame Duck.Īn Assassin Duck might mistake the Lame Duck for a Mechanic or Snoop if they see them vent or hide, and accidentally kill themself.Ī: Not at all (mechanically anyway). ![]() The Spy Duck could uncover an ally, and begin working with them. The Detective could clear the Lame Duck later in the game, which provides an advantage to the ducks. Once they're the only duck left, and begin killing, they have to be careful not to be caught, just like any other duck.ĭucks could accidentally kill their ally. The Lame Duck can still be voted out if they become sus. If a Sheriff or Vigilante suspets the lame duck, they can kill them, too. It also adds a bit of paranoia (or more paranoia) to the geese, who may have cleared the lame duck, just because they haven't killed, yet.Ī: Definately! A duck (or falcon) could kill the Lame Duck before the other ducks are gone. It forces ducks to consider each kill carefully, as they might be ridding themselves of a valuable ally. Q: How does the role affect the balance of the game?Ī: Not greatly. (The Lame Duck would see four ducks, and know there's a mimic, but not know who to trust.) It also allows geese to possibly trick a duck into thinking they're an ally.Īlso, the Ducks wouldn't be able to tell by the role screen whether there were (for example) three ducks or two ducks a mimic and a lame duck So they might see 3 ducks, one being the mimic and have an ally they don't know who it is. While not being able to kill from the onset may not seem fun to some, this role uses guile and cunning, along with sabotages, to convince the geese that they're one of them before sinisterly turning on them if they become the only Duck left.Ī: It forces the ducks to consider that they may have an ally amongst the geese, and not just kill the first non-duck they see. Q: Does this role introduce novel gameplay?Ī: Yes. ![]() ![]() (And adjust my idea design as I learn more about what the developers want.) (The Lame Duck would see the other ducks and Mimic, as normal, so they would know whether there's a Mimic or not).Ī: while I do it partially as a creative outlet, I truly want to help the game design, coming up with roles that I think would make good additions to the game. Other Ducks see it as a Goose: white name, doesn't show in the "Role" screen with other ducks/Mimic. It still has all the other Duck abilities (Sabotage, Vent/Hide). When it does, it's cooldown is very low (say half the normal). A Duck role that doesn't have a kill button unless it's the last remaining duck. ![]()
